Al Bonner is currently the Rehearsal Director of Bridging Souls Productions. He began dance training in Fayetteville, TN at Backstage Performing Arts under Miss Lana Groce. He furthered his education in dance locally at Dance Works under Karen Zissoff and at the University of Memphis under the direction of Holly Lau, Angie Hollis, Moira Logan and Wayne Smith, where he received a B.L.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies concentrating in Dance and Anthropology. While at U of M Al performed and choreographed for U of M’s spring dance concerts Phoenix Rising, Every Which Way and Fresh Moves. Professionally, Al has danced with Memphis based modern dance company Project: Motion as well as Bridging Souls Productions. Most recently, as a member of the Collage Dance Corps, Al has performed in works by Artistic Director Kevin Thomas, Kevin Iega Jeff, Brandye Lee, Sidra Bell and Tammy Hurt. Al attributes his passion for dancing to great instructors, various forms of art and the energy (both positive and negative) that exudes from all life forms.
